Sermon of the WeekA Right View of Election

This week it's Henry Mahan again, this time giving a properly balanced Biblical view of election. A balanced view of this doctrine is both helpful and healthy - but it is a doctrine much abused by its detractors and, unfortunately, by some of its holders - especially those who first begin to see the sovereignty of God in salvation.

As we shall see later in this Study, we do not preach election but salvation through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. We preach and God saves. We echo the commandment of Jesus "Repent and believe the gospel". All those who do so will be saved, and who those are is not for us to know until it happens.
