Sermon of the Week
God Helps Those Who Cannot Help Themselves
Here's Jeff Noblitt of Muscle Shoals Community Baptist Church again. (Don't you just love the way he says "Bab-diss" for "Baptist"?)

This time he's making sure the congregation understands the nature of their natural depravity in contrast to the ineffable holiness of God - such that they are helpless and hopeless and utterly lost in sin, bound for hell and powerless to change it - unless and until GOD does something.

Ooh, I have this one in my iTunes and it's right on! Jeff Noblit is Paul Washer's pastor, and he's just as fervent. He isn't afraid to tell it like it is, yet with grace.

Tony,

Thanks for posting this. Considering his introductory material, I might have to award him a t-shirt.

The discussion of depraved human nature is the part that is missing from so many churches today, and really on an experiential level it's missing from my everyday thinking far too often. It's good to be reminded of what I'm like and what God is like. This truth hurts like the painful incision that leads to the surgery that fixes the heart and restores the soul. Thank God for His grace!

Grace & peace,
Derek
