Romans 3: 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless (unprofitable); no one does good, not even one.”
The word “unprofitable” is used in the AV. It is translated from a Greek word meaning “made useless” or “rendered unserviceable”. It has nothing to do with making money.
God has a right as Sovereign Lord and Creator to expect men to fulfill the purpose for which He made them. When they don’t then they are useless, because they don’t do what they were made for. If you buy a computer and it doesn’t run programs then it has become worthless for the purpose you intended. As a computer it might make a good boat anchor, but that is all.
This is what has happened to all of mankind. As glorifiers of God and enjoyers of Him forever we make good boat anchors. The whole race. We don’t fulfil what we were made to do. We can’t. We refuse to. But because we have no right to refuse our Creator anything, especially One so loving, kind and gracious, then we rightly incur His wrath and judgment.
Are there any natural men anywhere that you know of who are fulfilling the purpose that God made them for? If you didn’t answer, “No!” then you need to go back and retake Depravity 101.
