A very good quote.
I am a first time reader here. I enjoyed your format. I ran across some of your logical and biblical comments at team-pyro. You were able to phase difficult issues clearly seasoned with salt and grace.
There is a Harlen Ames in Tom Swift. Is this who the quote is from? I tried a search and could not find anything.
As I was glancing back over you blog I noticed that you (apparently) are finished with this blog. I am glad it will be open for a while.

You have found me out, Keith! It was and still is a running joke among my friends that Harlan Ames is a pen name for myself. At one time I amassed a collection of several hundred aphorisms based on my understanding of the scriptures. As I was running short of both material and energy towards the end, I snuck a few of "Harlan's" things in there.
Sorry you were sent on a wild goose chase. I are him. The name was selected from a favourite science fiction writer and a name that would sound good, while matching my initials in reverse.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, and for your kind thoughts about my Pyro posts.
I always dread posting on other blogs for fear that I have failed to display clarity or grace - so what you say is very heartening.
I also enjoyed your Pyro comments. I hope you decide to blog again at some point. Either way, I look forward to studying the 300 posts over which you have "agonized" :-)

Thanks for stopping by and for your words of encouragement. Please feel free to speak your mind on any of the old posts. I have re-activated the e-mail post notifier so that I don't miss any "posthumous" visitors.
Just checking back by thanks for the reply and God Bless.

I find that hard to believe! Really, you?
And my goodness that makes the rest of us (me) really look like shlubs, heheh ;) - of course we are our own worse critics.
But seriously, I thought everything you said in the Pyro mega-thread was exceptionally astute, and keenly discerning.
I look forward to more of what you may to offer there, (or here) in the future.
I also loved your daughters blog, she writes as well as you.
Blessings to you and yours ~

Wasn't it Rabbie Burns who said something like:
O wad the pow'r the giftie gie us
To see oursel's as others see us ?
Thanks for stopping by, and for your kind thoughts. Just a small note of correction, though - the blog was my friend's daughter's blog. My own daughter is a whole other story.
