We Cannot Trust in Our Own Impressions
Roy Hargrave
In this short clip, Pastor Hargrave warns about the unreliability and deceptiveness of trusting in our impressions. We can get a "feeling" that God is going to do something and be entirely wrong. And the fact that we are sometimes right, rather than helping us, can lead us into error.

Amen! This belief that God gives impressions to communicate with us extra-biblically seems rampant, even in churches where there is truth preached from the pulpit. If this truth can be learned early on in the Christian walk, & "sola Scriptura" taught consistantly, it would be great. Years ago, I was taught that God guides via "a peaceful feeling" & the Lord had me go through some very painful experiences, causing me to go to His Word & I learned this is not the normal way God speaks to us. I am so thankful for this! Sometimes when I obey Scripture, it can bring all kinds of "negative" emotions. Anyway . . . so glad to see this video today on the blog . . . as well as the good teaching from Hebrews over the past several weeks.

Willmania (not sure which one of you),

Nice to hear from you again. I know you read the blog all the time, but it's always good to know that someone has been encouraged or helped by something that was posted here.

Many of us have stumbled down wrong side paths on our way to heaven, but we have a Great Shepherd Who knows how to care for His flock, and He brings us back in His love, His way and His time.

I'm glad and give glory to God that He has guided you into the Truth on this sort of thing.

Blessings,

Tony

It's "Rachel" . . . I think it's always been me. My husband reads you regularly, but me, being the female I suppose, want to express myself sometimes. HA!

Rachel,

Thanks for clearing that up. I guess Eric's the strong silent type :-)

Blessings,

Tony
