Prelude to Postcards
The following post is extremely long (even for me) and deals with something that may not interest everybody. So, if you have a short attention span then just skip it.
But it does reveal something important, namely, the dangers of extremism. It was Martin Luther who came up with the allegory of Christian balance by describing himself as that man who, having struggled to mount the horse from one side, promptly proceeds to fall off on the other. We are all like this. The grace of God illuminating the Truth of the gospel from His Word is our best hope.
I truly hope that my correspondent finds the balance needed without losing his/her driving zeal.
